Portuguese D7 visa for self-employment

    The D7 Visa allows you to live and work in Portugal, and is granted to people who have their own income and can use it to support themselves abroad. They may be retired or on fixed or passive incomes.

    What types of income can be tested?

    Income from real estate, profits, dividends, royalties, income from a business, among others, which demonstrate that you will have an income of at least 705 euros per month.

    What are the main requirements?

    • Obtaining the NIF
    • Opening a bank account in Portugal with an amount equivalent to 12 times the national minimum wage. That is, in the case of an individual application: the supporting document must be for €8,460.00. With spouse: 50% of the minimum wage (€352.50) will be added to the account. In case of dependents: 30% (211.50 €) for each dependent under 18 years of age. **The money can be moved once the visa is granted.
    • Monthly income of at least €700
    • Basic documents such as passport, proof of residence, criminal record, etc.
    • One-year lease or proof of purchase of the property.
